Be creative and write about something you feel important or something you would like to tell your audience. Write about something you are passionate about.
You must remember your audience. It is not simply me (Mr. Katz) reading this blog!
If you will be ranting about a certain individual, you need to leave their name out of this. You could give them a pseudonym (example: Mr. Ed) or simply leave their name as anonymous.
Make sure your language is appropriate. Do not go on swearing tangents.
So today I’m going to rant about how I don’t know what to write for my free choice blog!!! I cannot figure out what to write and it’s killing me. One topic that you can talk about and your conversation will go on forever is time travel. But I’m not here to talk about that because like I said that will go on forever. So now I’m stuck without a topic for my blog. I would much rather be told what to write about for my blogs because it’s so much easier than to think about it. If we get another free choice blog I will come up with something better to write about, but right now I cannot come up with anything.

DeleteSo today I'm going to be talking about what I want to be in life when I'm older. I know it sounds weird and people normally wouldn't do this but I honestly have absolutely no idea on what to write. So when I'm older I want to be a lawyer. The most frequent question that I am asked is: "What type of lawyer?" I've thought about it and I've decided, I want to be a criminal lawyer. I don't know why its just a decision I made. I want to be a lawyer because I normally win at conflicts, and I don't mean win as in its a game, I mean normally whenever I get into a conflict with someone they always backdown. I don't actually like to have conflicts with people but I've been told I'm good at it and that I should be a lawyer, so I have decided to be a lawyer when I grow up.

ReplyDeleteFor this blog, I thought it would be interesting to talk about a news headline that caught my eye today. Two teenage girls traveling on buddy passes with United Airlines were prevented from boarding a plane in Denver because they were wearing leggings. Social media went crazy with this story, stating that the ban imposed by the airline was sexist. My best friend's dad works for Air Canada. Every time my friend and her family travel on buddy passes, which are essentially free flights for family members of employees, they are expected to respect a dress code. To be honest, if an airline is going to offer free flights as a benefit, then I think that the individuals flying on the free passes should respect the airline policy and dress appropriately.

DeleteFor this free blog, I am going to talk about where I would like to travel. If I had to pick a place to visit in the world, it would definitely be Japan. My cousin went there, and he said that is was amazing! I would visit mainly to explore the culture. The way they dance, eat, live. Apparently, Japan is a very Eco-friendly place. There isn't any trash on the ground, or gum (eww), and the food is amazing! Especially the candy, since there are lots of different flavors to chose from, and you can find the stuff anywhere! Japan, is definitely my dream vacation!

DeleteSince this week we have a free blog I would like to rant about how teachers don't give us the respect we give them. Some teachers are so disrespectful and not sympathetic what so ever. I feel like they don't understand how much pressure and work they give us and expect us to be perfect students and get everything completely perfectly at the same time. Some teachers also insult us and make jokes that can actually bother us but not mr Katz because your your best! Also why do teachers take like months to correct assignments. Sometimes we only have 1 week to complete assignments but it takes them 2 months to correct them all! Ughhh

DeleteFor my blog today, I will be talking about one of the biggest sports tournaments on the planet: The NCAA tournament also known as March Madness. The rules are the 68 best college basketball teams play each other in a single elimination game. The teams are split into 4 divisions and the higher ranked teams get to play the lowest ranked teams (best placed team in the division plays worst team in the division, the second best team plays the second worst team, third best team plays third worst team, etc). There are six rounds and the last team standing wins the national championship.
ReplyDeleteI love this tournament because I can talk about it with my friends. I can make predictions; I prepare my bracket sheet every year. There are tons of shocking moments like the best team losing to the worst team. I watch March Madness every year with my family and we always have a good time. My prediction for this year is that University of North Carolina will win the national championship!
For this free blog I will be writing about my 2016 summer vacation. For my summer vacation last year I went to Alberta. It was a long trip because we had to drive there and back . It took a week to get there. My family and I could of went on an airplane, but I'm scared I'm off taking a plane. Along the way we stopped at hotels for the night. When we got to Alberta we stayed at my cousin's house. The day we all went to pick up my other cousin who also lives in Alberta. We went to go pick up the RV we rented for the trip. We stayed at a campground for 1 week. One of the things I did in Alberta was we went to Banff. Banff was so beautiful. We shopped around and went for lunch after that we went go swim in the hot springs. Another thing that I did during my trip is that we went to go see Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. The colour of the water was turquoise. Throughout the trip I saw different kind of animals, I bears, deer and even a moose. After that week I drove all the way back Montreal. I really enjoyed that vacation!!
ReplyDeleteFor this free choice blog, I'm going to write about the books I want to read. So far, I have read a lot of books like the Percy Jackson series, the Heroes of Olympus series, the Kane Chronicles series and I just finished the Magnus Chase series all by Rick Riordan. Before, all I was interested in was Mythology-based books. Now, I am more interested in fantasy-fiction and vampire-based novels. In the future, I want to read the Twilight books, the Selection series, the Hunger games series, the Throne of Glass novels and the Mortal instruments books. Some of those books I can only read when I turn 13 or 14 years old, but I still want to read them.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be talking about what is my current crazy life! I'm currently doing a lot outside of school which is very exciting! I am currently planing a surprise for my grandparents because we are getting them a dog but I also have other very exciting news! My uncle just got engaged with his now fiancee (her name is Tania). They are getting married on my birthday 09-30-17 but not only that they are having an engagement party as well but that does not yet have a date selected. But the news that I literally can't sit still about because I'm so excited is that not only is it my first ever wedding but Tania asked me to be her bridesmaid and obviously I screamed as loud as I could of joy and said YES!!!!!! I will be one of the three bridesmaids! So this Saturday we are going to buy her a wedding dress and depending on which dress she likes she might use my mom's veil but we aren't sure yet. Because I'm a brides maid Tania told me that all of her brides maids will be wearing baby blue and the maid of honour will be in dark blue. I can't wait!!!

I honestly dont know what to write about, theres too many topics to choose from. I guess im gonna just rant about kids. Kids are too spoiled now a days, all i ever hear when i go to my friends house is, omg this person is going to the mall or check out this persons snapchat or i hate all of these people. Just SHUT UP. Why is this so important, all this social media is just making the world a bad place, i also hear, i hate it when i leave my charger upstairs or i forgot my hone at home, kids in Africa are dying and all u care about is your charger. GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

DeleteI'm going to blog about a recent vacation place that I've wanted to visit. I've wanted to visit the dead sea recently, the ocean is so unique, A bowling ball can float in that ocean, its insane. The idea of just walking out into the water, then laying down on the water and it felling like your laying on mattress is just interesting or at least to me.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to rant about the Outsiders movie. So, they really need to make a newer version because let's just say that some of the actors in the movie shouldn't be in the movie. Also the actors in the movie look very different now, obviously, but the guy who played Ponyboy looks a lot like Mr. Terry. Also the movie was very inaccurate, Dally was supposed to have platinum blond hair a blue eyes, and then when Darry pushed Ponyboy but was supposed to slap him. When Johnny died it was so sad, but when Dally died I was almost crying because he loved Johnny so much and he couldn't live without him and then he got shot a lot times, but then he was still alive and called for Ponyboy and then he died. But it's so sad because Johnny told Ponyboy to show him a sunset but he couldn't because he died.

I’m going to do my Free Blog on March and Easter. You would think that March would feel like a short month because of March Break, but for some reason it wasn’t for me. All of March has felt like it’s been going so slowly. Maybe it’s because I’m eagerly waiting for April. Every week in April has at least one day off. The thing I’m most excited for in April is Easter. In Easter I will be seeing family and friends and reading the new book I’m getting. I can’t wait for Easter! The only thing that is sad about Easter Break is that it is our last full break before the end of school, which means I have to make the most out of this break. Thinking that we only have one break left before exams saddens me. Although March is in it’s last week it dragged out for so long...but now LET THE DAYS OFF BEGIN!

DeleteFor my free choice blog, I am going to talk about my recent vacation. The last vacation that I went on was this march break. I went on a cruise. I went with my mom, my dad, my brother and my cousins came also. We went to Florida and the Bahamas. In Florida all of us went to the beach and there were really big waves there. We also went to a restaurant to eat lunch and that's it. We had a lot of fun in Florida. In the Bahamas my cousins, my brother and my dad went snorkelling. We saw a bunch of different types of fish and we even saw a stingray. On the cruise I also saw my friend that I met this year. I was really happy to see her and we had a lot of fun together. I think that this was my favourite vacation ever.

Since this is a free choice blog, I'll be doing it on my birthday. Birthday, it's a special day where you celebrate your anniversary of the day on which you were born. My birthday is coming very soon, so soon that it's exactly a week from today. I'll be thirteen! I'm so excited for April to come because that is the best month ever(for me)! I'm pretty sure that April is the month when I celebrate the most, I know eight other people that have birthdays in April and Easter is also celebrated in April.The month gets better, because of the holiday and the pet days theirs not going to be a full week of school in April!
ReplyDeleteFor my blog, I decided that I would talk about the book that we just recently finished, along with the movie, The Outsiders. In my personal opinion, I found the book to be WORLDS better than the movie, I felt that all the emotion and all the turmoil in the majority of the scenes from the movie were completely forgotten. But that isn`t really the movie`s fault, after all the majority of the book is told/explained through Ponyboy's thoughts and reactions, meaning that when the movie has to cut that out it results in a much less intriguing and interesting experience compared to the book. Another reason the book is better is how it handles each the changes in the scenes, a lot of the time in the movie the scene changes just feel rushed and sloppy while in the book it is properly explained and we get to see the emotions of each character as it happens.
ReplyDeleteFor this weeks free blog, I'm going to write about my new favorite show, Riverdale. Riverdale is a Netflix original series based on the famous Archie comics. As the freshman year begins, the small town of Riverdale is still shocked by the towns recent death of the captain of the football team and most popular guy in school, Jason Blossom, with everyone in the town of Riverdale being a suspect. I really like this show because I find it's interesting because all It deals with teenagers and to me, I find teenagers are easier to understand and the show is more fun. I would defiantly recommend this show and If your ever looking for a show to watch, u should go with Riverdale.

Free blogs, are they fun? There are very difficult to think of a subject that you're comfortable typing about however some subjects are very confusing. For example I once did an effective speaking class at air cadets and the person asked a ludicrous question that not even my older brother really understood. It was “It has been 150 years since Canada’s confederation what does that mean to you.” I had basically no idea what confederation was at the time as well. Personally I can not really think of a topic to write about easily so I would say free blogs are not exactly fun.
ReplyDeleteFreedom! I love blogs that are completely free of choice. I want to write about Easter break coming up. I cannot wait! I have had so much homework, projects and most of all tests. All I need is a nice long break to do whatever I want. But the sad part is that I will probably be assigned work before the break that is due after the break which means I will be working DURING the break. Maybe I should start praying now for that not to happen.
ReplyDeleteFor this free blog I decided to do mine in my ringuette game on Monday. On Monday was my ringuette final game. What that means is that who ever won that game won the league. And guess what? My team won!!!!! We were so happy about! All of the work we did during the entire season finally paid off. The score was 4-1 for us. We won almost every game of the season. We only lost one game. Also we won every tournament we were in except for our home tournament. It was also right after Christmas break. This year was probably my favourite season yet!!!
