Honestly, the trial of Ulysses project was really fun. The only thing is that I was very nervous to present, but after I did, it felt great. I was so nervous since the day we got the project and to find out, I was nervous for nothing. The thing that I will remember about this project is spending time with my class. It was really fun doing this project and I really hope we could do something like this again because I personally really enjoyed it.
I really liked this project and I found it so much fun. The only thing that I disliked was the fact that I was so nervous but after presenting, I felt like I was nervous for nothing. I wouldn’t really improve anything about the trial because I found it so much fun the way it was. Something that I will definitely remember about this trial is how much fun I had with the class and spending time with my friends.
I really loved the project and I found it very creative and fun!! I wasn't nervous going up to present but it felt really good presenting my project!! The only thing that I think could have definitely had some improvement isn't the project itself but the groups at one point got really divided and I'm happy my group was good!! But I find that it was very messy at one point with the groups and it made the time before the trial more stressful because it was very all over the place! But other then that I think that the trial went very smoothly and it was really fun!!
This project was so much fun but presenting it wasn't. I was really nervous but when I was done I felt relieved. When we first go the project it was in November or December and I didn't really think anything about it until a week before the project. The only thing that I disliked about this was that it was at night and that night I had to study for 2 test the next day and had to do homework.
At first I wasn’t that excited about the idea mainly because I was getting really confused about what I needed to do for the project. Then I wasn’t happy at all when I found out we would be receiving questions from the commissioners. But then I decided to come watch the other class’s trial to understand what it would be like and then I was super excited to do the project. I was so relieved after presenting and was super happy that nothing went wrong. I have never done a project like that before and I definitely want to do one again. There was nothing that should be improved, it was all so great!! I think I will just remember about how much this was like a trial: there were the jury, the commissioners, the witnesses, etc. P.S I will definitely remember the delicious food!!!
What I liked about this trial was that there was an intermission instead of going through the whole trial without a break. What I did not like was that when the groups went up it was not in order. One of my suggestions to improve would be to have more people to be commissioners. I will definitely not forget when Melantho was presenting her argument and Mr.Katz had asked Eurymachus to stand up and everyone laughed.
I really enjoyed the trial! It was good to listen to everybody’s presentations and hear the different arguments. The students also did a fantastic job preparing their costumes. This was a great public speaking experience, and, as I’m interested in becoming a lawyer when I’m older, I really appreciated this opportunity! It was also a great experience to have to answer questions on the spot, and I hope I have another project like this in the future.
I have only two suggestions for improvement. Firstly, I think the audience should have been asked to put their phones on silent mode, as hearing phones ringing was a little disruptive. I also think that there was a bit too much wastage of food.
I will definitely remember this project/trial because I learnt a lot especially the importance of communication, being prepared, and most of all being confident!
The trial went really well! I thought that there would be more people and that it would be more nerve racking. I like the idea of doing a project on a trial ``if Ulysses was innocent or guilty``. I also like the costumes, they look really nicely done! The speeches were really good too! I think we needed to improve on not reading on the paper because I find that a lot of people were looking down, instead of looking at the audience. After all everything did go well and it was lots of fun!
I think that the trial was very interesting. I didn’t dislike it but I didn’t really love it either. The speech was a little easier then I thought it would be. I practiced my speech before the trial. I don’t really like talking and giving speeches in front of a ton of people. But this time, I was very confident and very courageous. Plus, the audience laughed at my first sentence. So it was kind of encouraging! I think that I did very well! My volume was just right because I used the microphone. I tend to speak in a low voice so having the microphone helped a lot. My favorite part was getting to see everybody else’s costumes. Everybody looked so cool! Some people’s togas looked very realistic. Some students even wore makeup! I gotta say, the trial was very unique and in all, a good experience.
I really liked the Ulysses project. Dressing up as our character was really fun to do, and the presentation part was not as scary as I thought it would be. The only thing I would have changed is the timing. I didn't like the fact that it was after school, it really interfered with my homework and tests I had the next day. Overall, it was great.
I think that this project was very different. I didn't love this project but I also didn't absolutely hate it. I really liked that we got to dress up like our characters and that we all had different costumes. My favourite part was making my costume and the night of the trial. I didn't really like all the preparation that we had to do like writing the argument and reading the book. Another thing that I din't like is that the trial was after school because afterwards I didn't have time to study for my tests and do my homework for the next day. Overall I liked this project. -Sierra Toto
What I liked about the project was that I learnt how to present speeches that are very important in front of random people/strangers. But what I disliked about this project was that it made me freak out! While I was practicing it right before the trial my leg started shaking in fear. My suggestion for improvement is that maybe next time you should ask the audience to turn their phones off or at least put them on silent. When the phone went off, it disrupted someones speech. What I will remember about this trial is the whole entire trial. It was so fun I will never forget about it through the rest of my life!
I really liked the Trial of Ulysses. I think it was a really fun project to be a part of. I liked how we all played a character from the story and we got to learn something about that character. I think that something that could've made the trial even better was if the audience got involved in the trial. Maybe if the whole audience voted and not just only the jury. Even when it was a 20 minute recess I didn't feel like the audience was very involved but at the end of the day we can't control everything. Something I will remember about this project is the costumes. Everyone had a really cool costumes and it was awesome seeing everyone in character. Something else that I hope to remember is how I presented. I thought I presented really well because I tried my best to speak clearly and not stumble.
I loved the project, it was an amazing idea and it still complied with the IB program so it helped spread our knowledge and make an interesting and fun project at the same time. I love the whole idea about a trial about the subject, its genius, words can't describe how genial the idea was. I will remember how Chris was getting so angry during the trial, it was really funny.
The Ulysses Trial project was pretty fun because I personally like doing arguments and speeches. What I liked most was that we had to dress up and talk according to our god/goddess's thoughts. At the beginning, the only thing I disliked was that I had to go first, but while I was presenting, I didn't feel nervous anymore. To improve this project, we should've had more jury members or maybe asked the parents to vote too so they were involved. The thing I will remember the most about this project will be the costumes and how fun it was.
This was a really smart idea. It was different and fun. It was better than a regular project. It was fun each being a different character. We all learned something new about our characters. When I first saw the audience I got really nervous. I also got nervous when he told us the commissioners were going to ask us questions. I hate speaking in front of an audience. But when I started talking I felt so much better. Next time I wouldn't change anything. I will remember how much fun we all had. Overall this was the best project ever, I hope we do something else like it.
I personally really liked the trial. It was a new and fun way to do a project and unique. We all had our own work to do and we couldn't be dependent on others. I will for sure remember some of the essays and how well some people presented, costumes, etc. I dont really have any improvements I could suggest. It was fun and it went well.
For the idea of the project it was very creative and it went well with the global context. What was required to complete this project was very straightforward (maybe because I understood the book’s characters). I do not have many complaints apart from maybe the trial being taken mid way through the week i’m sure there were better days to put it like friday. The trial what won’t I forget..? Most likely the greek theme as In enjoy greek mythology nor the blue-tooth speaker when it got interrupted and made funny a sound.
I found the project to be quite fun after a while and after getting used to it, I didn't like it at first but after giving it a chance and finding a costume I began to really enjoy it but I would have preferred if there were no costumes and if it wasn't at night because that really annoyed me one I wanted to go to sleep but I had to leave, the one thing I'll remember about this trial is definitely other people's costumes because I loved all of them so much
For this project I didn't like it all that much because I didn't understand the book. At the end I started understanding and enjoyed this project. One thing I disliked about this project was typing the essay. I didn't get many ideas and go stuck while writing. One thing I will remember if the effort and hard work that we put in as a class for this project to come together
I really liked the project apart from being nervous. I had a lot of fun and really liked the lay out of the whole trial and how the evening was planed. I think that an improvement is that there could have been more jury so that there would be more percentage of choices on the fate of Ulysses accept for just 6 people. I think what I am going to remember of this trial is saying my speech. I think that it was a greet idea and I think that we should do something like that again.
