Blog 18 - Monday, November 21, 2016

There will only be ONE (1) blog this week!  Very short week :)

In the Circe chapter, Circe changes her lovers into animals that suit their personalities.

If Mr. Katz had the power to change his students into animals based on their personalities,
what animal would he choose for you?

Explain giving clear arguments!

  1. I would most likely be turned into a dolphin because most of their qualities match mine. For an example, they have a layer of fat, or blubber, under the skin to keep warm in the cold water, I do not have the same tissue as they do but in the winter I always add an extra layer of clothing to keep warm. Another aspect would be that they swim in water and in the summer I am at the pool approximately every single day. A trait that we have in common is that these mammals have well-developed hearing and once when I was at the park with my mom I was at one end of the park and my mom’s cellphone was at the other but despite the distance I could hear her phone ringing. Dolphins are highly intelligent marine mammals and although I might not be Einstein I think I am pretty bright myself.

    1. Wow the fact that you heard your mom's phone from the other side of the park is awesome

  2. I think that I would be... I have no clue. In fact I'm gonna do one of those online quizzes for my spirit animal.
I said I was a seal, apparently both seals and I are very playful and happy. I didn't really think that I would be a seal of all things but seals are still cute so I'm okay with that. The seal also represents imagination and creativity, those are two things that I think that I do have. One last thing the seal represents if the fact that you are a person who listens to their mind, and that is definitely something I do, whenever I feel something may be wrong I will always speak out about it, I mean just look at how many times I've "corrected" not yelled but "corrected" somebody in class about mythology. I guess the seal does kind of fit me but I still wasn't expecting that.

    4. Wow, your blog is great and the seal matches your personal style.
I did the same thing by doing quizzes on what animal I am.

  4. I think that Mr.Katz would change me, and really any other kid in our class that works hard and pays attention, into a dolphin. I think Mr.Katz would change me into a dolphin because, a dolphin is one of the smartest sea creatures/animals on the earth, so because I got into the International Baccalaureate program which means I (and everyone else in our class) am/are smarter than the average student.

  5. I think that if Mr. Katz were to change me into an animal, I would be an otter. Although I seem very quiet in class, I am actually a high spirited person and I love to play and laugh, just like otters do. I also relate to them because we are both very sociable. I love to be around people all the time, I always want my friends over or I want to go out and do an activity with my mom, dad or brother. Otters are the best!

  6. If Mr. Katz were to turn me into an animal, I think I would be a Husky. Sometimes, I may seem very to myself but when it comes to sports or competitions, I tend to be very competitive. I’m also very playful and love to have fun. Huskies are very loyal and I do consider myself loyal towards my friends and family. Huskies tend to always be in packs and I can kind of relate because normally, I’m never alone. I’m always finding myself with a group of friends. Huskies are very wize and always aware of their surroundings and I consider myself pretty intelligent.

  7. If Mr. Katz was to turn me into an animal I think I would turn in to a pug. I think that I would turn in to a pug because pugs are usually very clumsy (that is what I've seen of pugs) and I am also very clumsy! It may not seem like I'm that clumsy but trust me, I am clumsy (I dropped my phone in the toilet by mistake that is how clumsy I am)! Also pugs seem to be very stressed. If you know me very well (a.k.a. my older sister, Bryanna) you will know that I get stressed over every little thing. If I'm not at my ringuette practice or game 45 minutes early I will start crying! Also pugs are very kind and loving dogs. I had a lot of things said to me which were exactly how I would call a pug!

  8. If someone would choose an animal for me I would have no idea what they would choose for me. This is why I asked my brother and sister, I also took quizzes online and they all told me that I was an owl. The owl is related to me because we are both quiet, love to play sports, an owl takes responsibilities, religious, loves to sleep, doesn’t like disturbing noises and tries their best when they know that they're probably going to forget everything. After reading this to my siblings they agreed right away and then annoyed me by making animal noises at me. Anyway I think that an owl is one of the best animals that anyone would choose for me.

    1. I can totally relate. It's hard to pick what animal is most like you. It's really weird if you think about it, but I can really see you being an owl. Great blog!

  9. I think that the animal that best matches my personality is the bear. Bears are nice, playful, curious, intelligent and are always looking for a good time. But if you turn your back on them, you’re in for it. That kind of remind me of myself. I’m nice, I’m intelligent and I love to have fun. But I’m not to mess with. If you try to double cross me; LOOK OUT!!! I wouldn’t say that I get mad like a bear, nor do I run as fast as a bear, nor do I eat or chase like a bear. But I think that most of my characteristics are like the furry teddy bear. So Mr Katz, please use your powers and change me into a bear but first, get the honey ready!

  10. A few weeks ago, I had lunch at a Chinese buffet in the U.S. The paper place-mats gave information about the Chinese Zodiac, and my family and I had a lot of fun learning about which animal we are according to the year we were born. I was born in 2004 (like many other Sec I students), and l learned that I was born in the year of the Monkey.

The Monkey is defined by certain characteristics. They are brilliant, independent, honest, loyal, polite, responsible, sociable and positive. Their weaknesses include being impatient, not always willing to listen to others and sometimes being stubborn. They can also get easily frustrated. We were laughing in the restaurant, because this animal describes my personality very well.

If Mr. Katz had to turn me into an animal, I'd jump from tree to tree at the chance of becoming a monkey! Just don't feed me bananas as I hate the taste of them!

    1. I was also born in the month of the monkey and it would've been my second choice.Great blog!!!

  11. he'd choose a monkey because i'm just weird and crazy and i like bananas so it be a good reason to turn me into one and my mother calls me a monkey because i climb the walls and the mountain at mont trenblant so that is why i'd be a monkey

  12. I think that an animal that would discribe be is a deer. I am shy like a deer. When you are driving on the road and you see a deer they run away. That is me when I meet new people. When deer walk through the woods they are so quiet. I am the same but by quiet I mean that I don't talk. They also don't like to be bothered by anyone. I hate when my brother bothers me. I find they are friendly when they aren't frighten, I'm also friendly.

  13. I think I would be a mule, oddly enough. A mule is a very stubborn animal and always has something to add on to your sentence ,I fell this animal would fit me very well because I always get into arguments and almost never budge in my opinion of what ever I'm talking about and even my mother agrees as she said "You're as stubborn as a mule".Thank you.

  14. I would probably be a fish because they are quiet and not very hyper. think a fish is an animal that is happy of what it has and likes to move around, like me. Fish are very curious and are always alert like me. I had a fish and I liked it very much. I would feed it every day and stare into its bowl every day. That is why I think I would most likely be a fish.

  15. I think if Mr. Katz would change me into an animal,I think it would choose an owl. I think that he would pick an owl because in class I'm very quiet and shy. I'm also responsible and I don't like when people disturb me. I think an owl would suit me best because we have a similar character. The thing that bothers me most just like owls is when people disturb me while I'm sleeping. I even asked my mom what animal she would chose for me but she said a monkey. This is because she doesn't see me at school when I'm quiet, she see's me when I'm home and being very loud and funny. She also picked this for me because I love to do flips just like monkeys.
I really think that Mr. Katz would pick an owl for me.

  16. I think he would turn me into a horse because I'm tall and horses are very loyal. And they are also very fast and I like fast. But also I'm sure there will be many other kind of animals like tiffany could be a parrot.

  17. I think that if Mr. Katz were to change me into an animal I would be turned into a Golden Retriever. I think that I would be turned into a Golden Retriever because I am hyper and energetic, smart, and calm, like Golden Retrievers. I am usually hyper before my hockey games, when I had a productive day, and when I have a good day in general. All dogs, especially Golden Retrievers are energetic, and hyper: they play all the time, they need walks often, and like most dogs: they love attention. I really consider myself a smart person: I try my best in class, I do my homework, I listen in and out of class, and more. Golden Retrievers are smart animals especially in the canine world. For example, one time I played with a Golden Retriever that walks with his owner often. My dad was talking to the dog owner while the dog walked over to me. The dog had a tennis ball in his mouth and dropped it right in front of me. The dog waited calmly for me to throw the tennis ball. When I threw the ball for him he brought it back to me and did the same thing as before. If a dog can do that it shows how intelligent they are. Another characteristic of mine is that I am calm in certain settings and situations: When I’m in class, when I’m tired, when I’m stressed, etc. Even though dogs are energetic for the most part they are also calm and relaxed. Golden Retrievers can be calm in certain settings and situations like me. For example, when Goldens have to be guide dogs they cannot be hyper that is why they are so well suited for the job. When Golden Retrievers see people who are old and weak they know not to jump in their face. I think that Golden Retrievers are the best dogs and I can really relate to them.

  19. If Mr Katz turns me into a animal he would turn me into a sloth because i would be supper slow and be late for class and then he would have the pleasure to send me to the office but by the time i get to the office class would be over and ill have to go to Mr Desrochers class and i would have another detention and my life would be over because my mom would kill me for getting two detention none day day anyways... bye

  20. If Mr Katz would turn me into an animal I think that he would turn me into a german shepard dog because I'm very protective and I get exited easily!! Also German shepards are my favorite dogs but they also have very long hair and I do to!! Another thing which you probsbly don't know is I have a great sense of smell for example if my mom is cooking dinner I'm able to tell what she is cooking even if I'm in my room and she's in the kitchen!! German shepard are known to have one of the best noses the world!!

  21. I think that if Mr. Katz were to change me into an animal it would be a rabbit because rabbits don't talk a lot and and generally friendly, which fits my personality. When I had a rabbit it wasn't very nice, every time I tried to hold him he would always fidget him self out of my arms and end up scratching me every where. But sadly when my rabbit was dying he was always nice and wanted to be held.

  22. I think that if Mr. Katz could change me into an animal, it would be a dog. My personality could be compared with that of a dog because dogs are smart and some are shy in front of strangers. Dogs are loyal to their friends and so am I. They are also reliable and I think I could say I am too. All in all, if I could be turned into an animal, it would be a dog.

  23. A sloth would suit me very well. Although the sloth is an animal it is also a synonym to laziness or reluctance for working. This quality is displayed sometimes in my efforts of completing my homework as I tend to procrastinate every so often. Another relation to the sloth is that I tend not to talk a lot in English class due to being tired or unwilling to speak mostly because my opinions on most conversation topics are unrelated.
