Remembrance Day is very important because we are remembering all the soldiers who died for us in world war one. This day is the day World War One ended. I think this day is relevant to all generations because the soldiers sacrificed their lives for families and future generations. The assembly was pretty good. It was sad when the guest speaker started to cry while talking about Remembrance Day. The video with the pictures of the war and the song was nice but it made me a little depressed :(. Remembrance day is very important so NEVER FORGET!!!
I agree that all the soldiers sacrificed their lives for families and future generations. My great grandfather was one of those people who went of to war. (Luckily he survived!) GREAT BLOG!!!!!!!
I think that the assembly was very sad and made me remember. What it made me remember was that all the people that were born after World War I and World War II are very lucky that they didn't have to live through all the violence that our grandparents had to live through. I think it is important to remember the soldiers that fought for us because without them we wouldn't have the same rights we have today. Actually, I don't think we would have any of the rights we have today. I think Remembrance Day is still relevant to our generation because we still have to honour the soldiers that fought for our country and that died or survived because without them Canada would not be how it is today!
I totally agree with the fact that I don't think we would have the rights that we do today if it wasn't for the soldiers who fought for us! Great blog!
I think that remembrance day is definitely important to are generation and all to come because it's to remember the men and women who fought for us and without them Canada and other countries wouldn't be the same! The assembly today was very touching and it made me think of how those soldiers gave their lives so that we would live a happy and free life. also how horrible it must be for the families that lost there relatives in the war! The assembly also made me realize that war is much bigger then it sounds those poor soldiers went through horrible things for us and I'm extremely thankful for them!
The remembrance day assembly made me feel sad but also made me remember how lucky we are. I think remembrance day is very special because it makes you think how many people risked their lives for us and how lucky we actually are. I really enjoyed the assembly even though it was a bit sad. My favourite part was when the older man was speaking because he is very important and he risked his life for us also. I think it's important to remember the soldiers because if there was no one that fought for us who knows what Canada would be like today. The soldiers are very important to remember. Yes remembrance day is still relevant for our generation because we have to know how many people fought for us and how many people risked their lives just so we can be happy. I love remembrance day and I think it is a very important date during the year. -Sierra Toto
I didn't know much about remeberence day until I moved here, actually until a few days ago. And I really enjoyed the assembly (I wish I could understand what the man was talking about). I belive that it was a really good could to appreciate this day with the school.
The assembly was a great way to make everyone remember the reason for their freedom. It was even better because we had a war veteran talk about his war. It is very important to remember the soldiers that fought and gave their lives for our freedom. We should respect and remember them everyday for their sacrifice instead of just one day. Yes Remembrance day is still relevant for our generation because no matter what, on the 11th day of the 11th month on the 11th hour, everyone stops doing everything and stands up and remembers for one minute, the soldiers that fought for our rights.
I think that the assembly was really nice and thoughtful. Remembrance day is really important because we show the soldiers that fight for us that we appreciate the work they do for our country. It is a day that should be forever remembered because, what if those soldiers didn't fight? Would there still be peace in our country? Would the war still be going on? We do not realize that without them our country could have been a completely different place. This is why we should take the time every day to remember these inspiring soldiers that changed our lives forever.
I think that it’s important to remember our soldiers because our country wouldn’t be so great and free without their effort and bravery. Those soldiers were and still are the bravest people. They risked their lives for this great country. They fought to keep us safe and free. I would never be brave enough to fight in a war. I don’t have any family members who fought in wars, but I still appreciate everything our soldiers did for Canada. What they did for us is very important. The assembly we had on wednesday was amazing! I think it’s great we take the time to remember our veterans. I got to meet a veteran soldier and he’s a very cool gentleman. The video we watched about remembrance day was very interesting and I liked it a lot. I specially like the two trumpet players; I thought they played perfectly. I love Remembrance day and our veterans. I think we should celebrate them more often!
The Assembly was really nice. We all need to remember the soldiers who fought for our freedom. They died to keep us free. All of the veterans have to live their lives having seen things that no man should ever have to see. Remembrance Day absolutely us still relevant today and forever. Even today there is still war. We all need to take a moment and think about everyone who died for us. I'ts important to think about the soldiers cause they are the reason we are free today. RIP all the fallen soldiers.
Remembrance Day is very important since we have to be thankful to all those soldiers who died for us in the wars. The assembly was very nice since one of a soldier/guest came. While all the presentations were going I felt so sad because some of the soldiers were still alive at the end and went home with there family and some where crying and crying because some of them have died. It’s sad to know that people do this as a job to protect their country. I also felt really sad when the speaker came up and started to cry, there was a 75 percent chance that I was about to cry because I felt so bad. These soldiers are all very important because without them most of the population of country would probably be all dead. It’s a very hard decision to make when you become a soldier, because they’re like risking their lives just for us and to me that is one of the hardest decision you have to make. Since Remembrance Day still happens today i am so thankful for all of those soldiers who have risked their life to save us all like superheros. If I would wish for something it would be world war peace, so there wouldn’t be anyone getting hurt in life and instead they can live a happier life by being with family. -Isabella Colicchio
Remembrance day is important because it is a way to commemorate the soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for us. Thanks to the soldiers, we have freedoms and live in a society that is relatively safe.
I really enjoyed the assembly we had at school this week. The soldier told us his story of war, and his choice of words had an impact on everybody in the gym. He described his fears and how he lost his close friends. I know this man must have gone through a lot of pain, but he is also a strong believer of peace. This is a message that is relevant to us all, and all future generations as well.
It's important that we remember all the solders that sacrificed there life for all of us. We should all be thankful. My grandfather went to war. He was a pilot. I never got a chance to meet him cause he past away ( he past away because of age, not in the war.). The assembly was sad. It was sad when the soldier was crying. This man went through a lot of pain to fight for our country. He probably lost many good friends. Remembrance day is still relevant in our generation. Never forget about the soldiers.
I thought that the Remembrance Day assembly was very interesting. I liked how we learned a lot about the veterans who served for Canada in the wars. I think it is really important to have an assembly especially for Remembrance Day because we all need to remember the soldiers who fought or still fight in the wars. It is important to remember the soldiers who fought and still fight in wars for Canada because we have so much to be grateful for. The veterans gave us freedom since they fought in these wars and put their lives endanger. We must remember all that they’ve done for us and all of Canada and the world. I think that Remembrance Day is absolutely relevant to our generation and generations in the future. If we didn’t have Remembrance Day we would still be grateful for the soldiers who fought for Canada, but I think these soldiers deserve more than that. They deserve at least a day/month to commemorate them and all that they’ve done. When we have a specific day for them we remember and respect them better than not doing anything for these brave and strong people. We should always remember everything they’ve done, even in future. God bless everyone who served in any war, we must always remember.
I think it is important to honor the soldiers that fought for our freedom. I think it is important because if they did not have to fight we may not have peace in Canada and many other countries. They sacrificed everything to let us have a better life. I really liked the assembly because there was a soldier there who talked about well, being a soldier. I learned a lot from him. I liked the trumpets a lot because they were really nice to listen to. I think Remembrance Day is an important day that the whole world should celebrate. I think that without peace a human cannot live its fullest life.
I think you really should honor them for their service, in fact two of my grandpa's served in war, the one still alive in Viet Nam the other in the Korean war so its a heartfelt moment on this day, I thought the assembly was heart touching and super interesting to hear his story. Sadly though it is not relevant enough, in fact today at lunch at the actual commemoration time almost nobody stopped so it's obviously not taken a seriously.
I think Remembrance Day is important because we need to remember what some people did to fight for our country. I think Remembrance Day is still relevant because the kids these days need to know what soldiers did to keep our country safe, protected and our own freedom. Remembrance day isn't relevant enough. People need to really understand why we where a poppie
My opinion on our assembly would be that it was a very good assembly but I truly think it was VERY VERY disrespectful to have held our assembly on the 9th instead of the 11th, now I do understand that veterans need to go somewhere in honour of the world war but thats not really an excuse I mean it was nice to have a veteran but we really didn't need one to come, I would have rather to have it on the 11th veteran or no veteran. I think it is important to remember the soldiers because they had fought for our freedom and we should respect that! Actually I saw 2 places today ( the 11th) when my mom was driving that did NOT have their flags half way down, if you didn't know a flag that is half way down signifies respect and I had saw 2 places without respect for the soldiers that had fought for us, and let me tell you I was mad! I absolutely think Remembrance Day is still relevant for my generation because we need to remember the people that had fought for our freedom it really doesn't matter how log ago it was I think we need to remember the soldiers!
I think that remembrance day is a very important topic to talk about because if we don't we let many soldiers hard work and lives go to waste. I liked the assembly but found it weird that it was on the 9th instead of the 11th I would have preferred an assembly on the 11th because that is when remembrance day is supposed to be. I believe that remembrance day is totally important for our generation because without those soldiers we might not have this generation.
I think Remembrance Day is important because it is a sign of gratitude and respect towards our troops. Furthermore throughout the week of remembrance day poppies are being sold for our veterans. Remembrance day is relevant enough to be given a designated day of celebration (more or less) every year. I think it will last for many years but it will probably eventually end. In other words this day has become a tradition but it feels like interest is being lost as it becomes even more of our past.
Isabella Ciarlelli Personally, I think the assembly was amazing! Everything about it was amazing and it was very well put together. I think it’s important to remember the soldiers because they risked their lives for us and sadly, many of them passed away. I think that remembrance day is still relevant in our generation because a lot of people’s grandfather or great grandfathers sadly passed on so I think that it is still relevant because of that reason.
Remembrance Day is very important because we are remembering all the soldiers who died for us in world war one. This day is the day World War One ended. I think this day is relevant to all generations because the soldiers sacrificed their lives for families and future generations.
