I don't agree with the decision of banning pit bulls. It's not the dog's fault, it's the owner's. It's the way owners treat or train their pit bulls that make them act, what people say, a dangerous way. It doesn't matter about the breed, it's how the owners treat them. Banning pit bulls isn't a good decision because not all pit bulls are how people think they are.
I think you're right. It's how people train their dogs that make the dog who it is. And like you said it doesn't matter what breed it is. The only thing in my opinion is that pit bulls are extremely strong and tough so when you train them to be violent they're going to be more vicious then when you train a chihuahua. I really liked your opinions! Great blog!
I have two completely different opinions about the pitbull ban. My first opinion is that pit bulls should be banned because of the safety of people who live in Montreal. Recently, a lady was killed in Montreal from being mauled by a pit bull in her own backyard. Something so terrible like that could happen to anyone. If we keep pit bulls in Montreal similar things could happen to more people. On the other hand it wasn’t the pit bull’s fault that it attacked the woman. The owner of the dog obviously taught it to be vicious. So it was mostly the human’s fault and not the dog’s. I think that to solve the issue of not knowing which owner will teach the dog from right and wrong, there should be people from the government that visit the owners. The owners would not just be owners of pit bulls but of every breed of dog. The people inspecting would inspect how the dog behaves and if it is safe and healthy in it’s home. If the dog would have to be taken away for good reason then it would be. I do feel for both of these ideas differently. I feel bad for pit bulls because they are getting such a bad rap. I also feel bad for the owners of these dogs that are doing a good job teaching their dog because they have to go through all these changes that they don’t deserve. Undoubtedly, I have no respect for the people who think that they can teach their dogs to be violent animals. If you want a monstrous animal to make yourself seem tough get a bear instead of an innocent dog.
I think that the pitbull ban is unnecessary and there are probably a lot of people that will argue with what I'm saying but that's just my opinion. I'm a huge animal lover, I also watch a show called pitbulls and parolees that is about a shelter in Louisiana called Villalobos that is a non kill shelter and they show how pitbulls are mistreated and they show you the real pitbulls. So my opinion is my opinion is that there is no such thing as a bad dog there are only bad and irresponsible dog owners. The only reason there is a problem is because people took pitbulls and decided to make them fight and it's horrible what they did to those poor dogs just so that they can make money! I think it's wrong and the problem isn't the dogs it's the dog owners!
Ariana, I completely agree with you, especially when you said " there is no such thing as a bad dog there is only bad and irresponsible owners!'' Amazing blog! -Isabella DiMarco
Also people should start to realise that this could happen to anything that has a mouth because with a mouth comes the ability to bite. Now someone being bit could happen with any breed of dog but because of the image people have given them people get more angry when it's a pitbull. Also humains have done much worst in the world and they punish animals because of the mistake of humains! That's just wrong!
I do not agree with the decision of banning pit bulls. I personally think that pit bulls should not be banned because dogs are loving creatures. I also find that dogs won't do any harm to humans unless someone makes them mad. Then, they will start acting up and attack someone. Otherwise, they should not have to wear a muzzle or have a chip planted in them. Usually the reason why dogs act harshly is because that's how the owner treats them and that is no way to treat your dog!!

P.S. I LOVE DOGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many people might disagree with what I’m about to say and that’s totally fine. This is my opinion. I don’t agree because, it is not the pitbull’s fault, it is the owner’s fault who trained their dog to become the way they are. These dogs are getting mistreated by their owners and that’s what triggers them to behave that way. There has been many stories on the news of people and other dogs especially puppies, getting attacked by these dogs and that’s why they’re getting muzzled. And I’m not just talking about pit bulls, I’m talking about any dog for that matter. However the owner has trained their dog, it’s going to react and become aggressive. I understand that the mayor wants to do something about the situation but this is not a good start.
I agree with you Loredana because it's not the pit bulls fault it's the owners fail. I also agree with you because I don't think the mayor is not having a good start with this situation.
I do not agree with the decision of banning Pit bulls. I think that Pit bulls should not be banned because it's not their fault that they act dangerously, it's how they're brought up. Dogs are not dangerous animals. The only time that they would get mad is if you do something to them that hurts them or that they don't like what your doing. I mean yes some Pit bulls are dangerous but it's not their fault.
My aunt has a Pit bull and golden retriever mix and she doesn't act unkind or dangerously with people. My aunt only got her when she was 4 years old and that's not that long ago. At the beginning it was hard for the dog to get adjusted to the way my aunt lives but now it's been 2 years and the dog is perfectly fine. Just one thing she is scared of everything. My aunt cannot take her on walks and she is absolutely terrified of the rain, thunder, lighting and when kids play with basketballs. My aunt also has 2 other animal and the dog loves to play with her other big dog and her cat.
I feel bad for ALL of the pit bulls that have to wear a muzzle if they didn't do anything wrong.I also have 2 dogs and if I got a letter saying that I had to keep a muzzle on them I would feel really bad for them.
My aunt has a pit bull too. She is a very sweet dog and has the most innocent-looking eyes. Her name is moomoo because she is white with black spots that looks like a cow and she likes to eat grass like a cow. My aunt rescued her and she trained her so well that she is so protective of us. She only barks out of excitement if there is someone at the door or someone new. I feel so bad for her because she'll have to wear a muzzle whenever she visits us.
I strongly disagree with the mayor of Montreal. While it is true that pit bulls can be dangerous and have attacked people and children, I don't believe that making them wear a muzzle and putting a chip in them will help this situation. I think that the mayor could have taken a different course of action. For instance, I think more action should be taken to ban puppy mills. I also think that there need to be stricter rules on breeding to better control the breeding of dogs with bad temperaments. I also believe that dog owners who choose this breed of dog should be required to take their animals for training and periodic evaluation by a vet. I also think that all dog owners need to take responsibility for their animal. This means that they should keep their dog on a leash when on public property and keep them in a fenced area if allowed out into a backyard.Owners also need to take responsibility to ensure that their animal gets enough exercise. I hope that the mayor will change his mind about the pit bulls.
I know, I disagree with the mayor of Montreal too. It's so rude of them to treat pit bulls just because they can be dangerous sometimes.Like the blog! I agree with you!
I disagree with the people that what to ban the pit bulls.I do know that they are dangerous and can hurt people but they are bogs and they should be treated the same way as other dogs.If the owners buy the pit bull the first thing that they should do is train them so they are not as violent as went they see people. If the owners don’t know how to train them they can also go to a pet store where they train the dogs in a mannerly way. After all I think that all dogs should be treated kindly.
I disagree with this desicion. Pit bulls are like every other dogs. It is not the dogs fault it's the owners , the owners must train there pit bulls so they do not attack and bit other humans they don't know. I think that pit bulls could be dangerous at some times if they aren't trained but so can other dogs and this law shouldn't be put on only just one type of breed of dogs. -Gabriella Izzo
I think that there are better ways to handle this situation other than to ban pit bulls. The mayor could have just set some rules instead like: making sure the owner treats their pet fairly, taking them to the vet to make sure nothing's wrong with the dog, if they show any signs of aggression to call an animal expert, e.t.c. It isn't fair to pick on the pit bulls when there are other animals that can do worse harm.
I think it is not right to do such a thing to any dog. It is not fair to point the finger at only pit bulls since any dog could attack anyone. I think it is the owner’s fault that their dog is acting that way. It would be better to put a fine or jail-time on the owner whose dog commits a “crime”. To own a dog is a huge responsibility. It is the owner’s fault if they do not live up to the responsibility of having a pit bull. Instead of focusing on the dog they should be focusing on educating the people on how to care for pit bulls.
I disagree with the banning of Pit Bulls in Montreal. It’s not fair at all for all Pit Bull owners who love their dogs. Sure, some Pit Bulls are violent, but most people train their dogs. If I had a trained well behaved Pit Bull that was never violent, and I got the dog taken away from me, I would complain to the mayor to get my dog back. Pit bull owners love their dogs. A dog is part of the family. There are other dog breeds that are violent, but why do Pit Bulls have to be banned and not the German Shepherds or the Boxers or even the vicious Chihuahuas? According to a website I found, Pit Bulls are very nice to people. Could the problem be with some owners who don’t take the time to train their Pit Bulls or owners who actually train their Pits to be aggressive?!
I think it is unfair to the dog. Picking on one specific breed is not fair. I have a dog and the dog was trained by us. When we got a dog, we took the responsibility of it. Having a dog is like having another family member. I think that the owners need to be responsible for their dogs, no matter what the breed. I think that each dog has its personality. Like when a child that does something wrong, and gets punished, a dog that does something that you don't like, needs to be corrected or punished. An owner knows what kind of dog he has and knows if it needs to be careful with the dog. I think that if we looked at each case where the Pittbulls caused damage, the owners most probably taught their dogs to be aggressive.
I do not agree with the ban,it is not fair to ban one breed (bsl)it regulates pit`s by muzzling them and not allowing them to be re adopted,a lot of them have been transported to the Maritime`s. They also need to be chipped with something that tells owners name if you scan and also shows the number, which is normally good but in this case its most likely going to be used for bad because when the pitbull escapes it be caught and scanned and when the owner's name is revealed, they will be arrested or finned + have the pitbull euthanized(put down/killed by injection)which is sad.Another thing is that anyone with a criminal record can`t own a pitbull which is insane, why just because you were criminal shouldn`t mean you`re not allowed to own a pitbull.
I think that this Pit bull ban is horrible! I mean sure the pit bulls were bred to fight and 38 percent of all dog attacks are from pit bulls, but it is people that create any aggression in any dog it doesn't matter if its a pit bull or not. Most pit bulls are nice just because they have a jean in them that is meant to be vicious and hurt doesn't mean if you come close to one it will attack you! I think this ban is ridiculous! I don't know what this mayor was thinking of when he banned these sweet, cute and friendly animals! These dogs are only vicious if you are mean to them, example: you don't feed them, you hurt them, you don't give them water and any other things that can kill them or make them suffer. I think the mayor should have went into further research before setting this law, this is not right.
Pit bulls. I have not ever seen a pit bull in real life but in the movies I am not to fond of them as well with other dog. Regardless I think that putting a muzzle on the pit bulls should not be a thing. It just makes them even more scary, but maybe micro chipped. In the end it doesn’t really bother me whether they get a muzzle or not I would just like to keep my distance from them.
I don't agree with the decision of banning pit bulls. It's not the dog's fault, it's the owner's. ReplyDeletePit bulls.
