An important part of my English class is to make you aware of what you post on-line and what it means to be a good digital citizen. Being a good digital citizen includes:
- being aware of your digital footprints;
- demonstrating safe and respectful online etiquette;
- not cyberbullying, sexting, or posting inappropriate photos and/or videos,
- making important decisions about what to post to social media sites; and,
- not downloading or uploading inappropriate content
For this blog, I would like you to CREATE an important Digital Citizenship message using MEMES!

I chose to make the meme that I did from a personal experience. I have been told to "Kill Myself" online. When this happened I had just sent a DM to an Instagram account asking why they were being mean to a friend of mine and bulling her and asking them to please stop. Later that day I got a message from the same person telling me to "KYS" which I looked up and found out it means "Kill Yourself". I obviously blocked and reported the account in question. Because that's not at all ever acceptable. The account was never deleted even though a decent amount 4660 followers on Instagram also reported this account nothing happened. And that is the story of my meme.

DeleteOmg people like that make me so mad. I'm so sorry that that happened to you. No one deserves to be told something like that. I hope that the bully learned to never do that again. At the end of the day, you just need to remember that bullies should have something better to do then be mean and they think that this type of thing is funny and won't hurt the person on the other side of the screen, but they're absolutely wrong.
DeleteI chose to do this off of just in general that cyber bullying is really bad! It can also be worst in some cases. I can't understand how some people can be so mean to others but everyone says that it's because they don't feel good about themselves so they attack others but I don't think that they should make others feel bad to make themselves feel better! I also don't think that it's really bad if you need to make others feel bad to make yourself feel better that's just really bad!

DeleteI’ve chosen to make the meme that I did about something very bad but unfortunately it still happens. Many social media sites often have people posting inappropriate pictures whether it’s of themselves or someone else, either way it’s very bad. The worst part is that, people delete them and think that the picture(s) gone forever but what they probably don’t know is that it can never be deleted even if they think it is. That person’s account should automatically be (blocked, reported, etc.) It’s not exactly cyberbullying but if it’s constantly being sent to a person it can get out of hand.

I chose to make my meme on cyber bullying. I think cyber bullying is horrible but unfortunately it still happens to almost everyone. I have been in this situation and I can tell you it's not fun at all. To resolve my problem I reported the person and also blocked them from all my social media accounts. But this did not solve the problems. There were still other people who called me names and made fun of me. So after these things happened,I decided to delete all of my accounts and make new ones. I only told my friends about these accounts and it really helped me to not get cyber bullied. I really think that people should consider these things before getting social media accounts and also talk to their parents about it first. I talked to my parents before getting my accounts but that didn't really change anything. I've learned that if people are cyber bullying you, you should tell someone about it and also the person that is cyber bullying you is probably jealous of you. Before getting any social media accounts you have to consider some consequences. This doesn't happen to everyone and I don't think it should happen to anyone.

I did mine on cyberbullying too. Cyberbullying is wrong. The people who do this do it to make them feel better about themselves. Bullying on the internet gives the bully a bigger audience, more people are watching. These people are cowards because they hide behind the computer.

ReplyDeletechose a digital footprint mocking Trump and Hillary,anyways not having a digital foot print is hard because once you delete something,its not gone if someone else copied it but other than that its always there,which is scary,if you said something mean once it won't be gone.So I chose a cunning play on Hillary's emails and personally I find it a bit funny,not ''Dank'' as what Lucas would say but it gives a little kick.
ReplyDeleteI think your digital footprint can start when you are born because they put your information in a data base which is held who knows where in cyberspace. Also definition of dank should really be updated.
DeleteI decided to do the meme about making decisions on what to post online. There are a lot of thing that can be said in one post: it could hurt somebody's feelings, it might be inappropriate, it could show personal information; address, license plate, etc. People forget that even when they delete something online it will always be there. Everyone should start thinking before they post because one post out of thousands of posts could mean a lot to yourself or to somebody else.

ReplyDeleteI did a meme with “Joker” who was complaining about how batman hacks into so many accounts on a daily basis. Two things to keep in mind is that batman is a fictional character as well as a vigilante but when he hacks into people’s accounts he does it is to continue cases and confirm his suspicions. So he does it with good intentions which is ok in some cases. I chose batman because a vast amount of people know who the cape crusader is and know that he is a vigilante which is against the law.
The image I chose for my meme was a grandma on the internet. My meme says:”In my day, there were never this many inappropriate posts”. The meme shows that in the present we have cell phones, internet, social media, but we don’t always use it in appropriate ways. People use these tools we have to cyberbully, be inappropriate, racist, disrespectful, hurtful, and more. We should be using things like social media to spread kindness instead of being a cyberbully. I think my meme is effective because it makes us think of all how we should use the internet and that anybody and everybody could see what you post on the internet. I think my meme is even more effective because it’s a grandma looking at the inappropriate posts. That shows people that even people who are close to you could see what you do on the internet. Thinking of how your parents, your siblings, your grandparents, your aunts and uncles will react when seeing something inappropriate or mean that you post on social media will make you refrain from sending it or posting it.
ReplyDeleteI did my meme on a kid that looks angry because someone said something mean to him online. So on cyberbullying. I know that this happens a lot with other people but it has never happened to me. I think it is wrong to do that to someone else. I like memes a lot and think they are really awesome. I hope we do more memes on other topics like Greek mythology. I think being a good digital citizen is very important.

DeleteThe reason why I chose an image of a boy covering is face is because I think the picture represents a boy that posted something that he didn't mean to post. The text on my meme is "I can't believe I posted that. Now everyone can see it". By that I mean that the boy posted something that he now regrets. That's why you should always think before you post something because it's never coming off the internet. My meme is effective because it shows that someone regretted posting something . Also that you should think before you hit "send" or "post".

DeleteThe image I chose for my meme was Baby Grandfather. What I chose to write for my meme was "This is my house and I say you cannot hack into other peoples accounts!" I chose to write this because of all the people in the world who have been hacked mostly all their work has been lost. I want to stop all of the hacking in the world and I think that it is very bad digital citizenship to hack, even though it is illegal people still do hack and ruin everyone else's progress for whatever they have been doing!

DeleteThe meme base I chose was the one called "disaster girl" I originally wanted to use the meme of the girl making an "excuse me" gesture with her hand but when I saw this one it was too good to pass up. I love how in the meme the girl looks so maniacal and malicious, so I thought I need to use a message that makes her seem even worse, so I put "they posted an inappropriate picture once...once" I think my meme can be effective because it shows that people are aware of what you post and some people, while they won't burn your house down, will not like that post so next time you think of posting something think to yourself, will somebody not like this?

This photo represents cyber bullying, and the powerful impact that it can have on other peoples feelings and actions. Bullying of an matter will leave scars on peoples hearts forever, so do you really want to be remembered by that person who always called you ugly or worthless or any other mean name? I don't think so. I found a great quote online that my aunt told me once by Maya Angelou: " I have learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." - Maya Angelou
ReplyDeleteI chose to do my meme off cyberbullying. Bullying is really bad/mean and it affects on social life. I felt that if I do it on cyberbullying it would be like talking about all the bad behaviour. I used a picture of a sad owl because when you get bullied you would probably be feeling sad. I wrote “stop the bullying… start being happy and confident” on my meme. I wrote this because of all those people that decide to be rude and say all these bad rumours about others. For all of those people that are being treated like this, they should tell someone or get help.

DeleteSometimes, people see inappropriate posts and photos on the internet and they don’t do anything about it. They don’t bother to report it because either they don’t care because it doesn’t affect them, or they like it even if it’s not appropriate or they just don’t care. I think that the second someone sees an inappropriate photo or post, they should report it or they should tell someone who can do something about it. If people reported inappropriate pictures and posts more often, the world would be a better place. There would be less Cyberbullying. The internet would be safer for everyone. Inappropriate posts and photos are not cool people! So please report it if it’s wrong. Reporting is the helpful thing to do. Reporting is the right thing to do.

DeleteUnfortunately, I know so many people who post inappropriate photos and information on social media... The sad thing is that even though I've tried to tell them it's wrong, they laugh it off. I just wish I could get through to them and help them be better digital citizens.

I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series. I knew when I saw Hagrid on the pictures of choices for the MEME's, that I just had to pick him. Hagrid, the keeper of keys and grounds of Hogwarts School of Wizardry, serves as a fantastic role model for all the students, especially Harry and his friends. Hagrid provides advice, warns the kids of danger, helps to protect them, and is always a friend. If he lived in the 21st century, I'm sure he would play an important role in warning kids of the dangers of posting inappropriate content on social media. This is why I have him saying, "I should not have said that... Think before you post!"

ReplyDeleteThese days you can't trust anyone on the internet. There are so many inappropriate posts out there. When you delete it, it looks like it's not there but it's still there. In all the time your post has been up for someone could have screenshot it. Before you post a picture or a text think about this: Do you want the whole world to read or see this. If no don't . Some post may hurt certain people. If it's something bad about someone , just don't . Would you like it if someone posted something bad about you.
The picture I chose for my meme was a girl crying and I wrote "My life is ruined because of that post". I chose that picture because that is how you feel if someone posts something that could ruin someone's life. This meme has to do with cyber bullying and posting inappropriate content that could hurt or ruin a life. I think this is effective because it shows how someone's life can be ruined because of one post. That person might not even get a job because of the post. And if you try to delete it, it's always out there.
ReplyDeleteI chose to do my meme on cyber bullying. When I was in grade 4, I had an Instagram account, and I would post pictures with my dog and just nice things in general. One day this guy that went to my school commented on all my pictures with such bad language, you'd be surprised at what he said since he was only in grade 4. One time he tagged my name in comment so that I would see the picture, so I saw the picture and it said something so mean. I was so sad. A few days later I asked him why he did that and he said it was his brother, who was in grade 5, that commented bad things on all my pictures. He also said that it was someone who hacked his account. I wasn't sure what to believe, I still thought it was the guy in my grade because he was kind of crazy, not in an unhealthy way but it was weird. I think cyber bullying is so bad, I know so many worse stories that actually happened in Montreal. It bothers me that so many that people actually have the nerve to say stuff or post stuff about other people that could hurt them a lot.

Deletei think its important to be a good citiziship because, no one deserves to be miss treated depending on how they look talk or acts. i believe everyone should be treated as an equal and no oje deserves to be left out of things. some of the things people do should not be allowed and they should have there account suspended or taken away
