My favourite fairy tale as a child was Peter Pan. Peter Pan was the one story I would read over and over again. I loved Peter Pan because the story actually had a meaning that no other book that I read had. The meaning was that kids don’t want to grow up but they eventually have to. Like for me I don’t want to grow up but I know I have to. There was also a second meaning. The second meaning was that kids can't run away from their future. I would always read the book before bed with my dad, my brother and my sister.
Wow I never knew about those meanings or at least the last one, I also enjoyed the story but personally I only picked up on the first meaning later off in life and the second one from you. Thanks for teaching me that.
I've always loved Peter Pan as well however I was never able to sit through the whole movie without getting bored recently I guess I never really had a good attention span, anyways nice job.

My favorite story is called Dogzilla written by Dav Pilkey. Its a story about a dog who woke up from his deep slumber while the mouse city was having a BBQ.While the dog was searching for the food,he was destroying the entire city. Then serg.pipsqeak came and gave him a bubble bath and then the evil dogzilla ran away never to be seen again.the mouse population could continue their BBQ.Then they rebuilt their city and had their second annual BBQ and then puppies came out of the volcano which Dogzilla came out of.I loved it because my dog would always lie down next to me when i read the story and i found that the story was funny because of all the mice and the dog and there was alot of puns. -Lucas Beausejour
My favorite fairy tale when I was younger was The Tale of Desperaux, I loved the way the story was based around a mouse trying to be somebody others said he couldn't although, I never really understood the deeper parts of the story, but just recently I bought the novel instead of having to use an old library book, It's much better now that I know the deeper meanings to the story like how the morale is about being who you want to be and never letting others stop you or get to you. In the end I loved the book a lot as a child but know that I'm older and can understand the deeper parts like the courtroom chapter, the book is just more enjoyable and I recommend anyone who likes fictional stories to go and read it.
I remember that my favorite fairy tale as a little girl was Cinderella. My mother used to read it to me every night. I also loved all the other stories she would read but this one was one of my favorites because I could imagine that I was a beautiful princess who went to the ball to meet her handsome prince in her glass slippers and blue ball gown. One year when I was seven years old we had gone to Disney world and I had dressed up as Cinderella. I had added a blonde bun on my dark brown hair which didn’t match but I wanted to look like Cinderella as much as possible.
Cinderella was my second favorite Fairy-Tale. I also really liked her beautiful blue ball gown and her gorgeous blond hair. That must have been an adorable costume when you went to Disney World.
When I was younger I loved a lot of fairytales, but my absolute favourite was the 3 little pigs. When I was 5 my mom and dad use to read me bed time stories. But always I would pick the 3 little pigs. It always has been my favourite and it still is.
The reason why my favourite fairytale is the 3 little pigs is because when I was maybe 6 years old my brother made his own version of the 3 little pigs for school and that is what probably got me into loving the book even more.
I always have been afraid of wolves. What scared me the most was their pointy teeth. So my mom thought that it would be a good idea to get the book the 3 little pigs and it was. After reading the book a few times I wasn't as scared anymore for some reason. Ever since then I haven't been scared of really anything.
Those we're the reasons that the 3 little pigs is my favourite childhood fairytale.
Great blog entry Sierra! I really liked how you added the that after reading this book you weren't scared of wolves or anything else. I think The Three Little Pigs is a great story to overcome fears especially as a young child. This blog was super interesting to read. Great job! -Amanda Parison
Great blog Sierra, When I was younger I would make my dad read me The Three Little Pigs. He got so frustrated at me because I loved this book so much that I would make him read it to be every night, until I fell asleep. Good job again
Amanda Parison A fairytale that I grew up loving and still love is Cinderella. Cinderella was a story that I’d love to hear, read and watch as a movie. I loved Cinderella so much because of the storyline, the characters and the imagination of the author. All those features are important for a story, especially a children’s story.
I really enjoyed the storyline in this fairytale because it was so different then others. Cinderella had two evil step-sisters, a terrible step-mother that made Cinderella do all the chores and work, and many talking mice friends. Cinderella’s story proved that things can work out in the future and that you can get past tough times. In Cinderella’s case she found her Prince Charming and she stopped doing all the work for her step-sisters and step-mother who didn’t treat her right.
The characters in Cinderella were just so creative and captivating. The mice are an example of the creativity and how captivating the characters are. In this story you are never sure what plan the mice will come up with next. The mice were also made creatively by the author because of their different personalities. All the mice are unique in different ways and every reader has a favourite mouse. The mice are creative in the way they look, act and react to things.
The imagination of the author in this story is a very important factor since it’s a children’s book. The readers have to be able to have the story come to life in their minds, and the author had to be able to imagine the characters, settings and how the characters would act, before writing Cinderella. I think the author had a lot of imagination when writing this book and by having that imagination of the book made it ten times better than it would be without.
When I was a youngling, my favorite child hood fairy tail/book was "The Sneetches." This book taught me multiple lessons about friendship and accepting others for who they are.
In this book there were these characters who had stars on there belly, and some of the other characters had no stars on there belly. All the characters (Sneetches) with stars would take advantage of the others without. But one day, the non star Sneetches built a machine to make stars on the belly, the other sneetches with stars originally got mad so they made a machine to take off the stars. In the end every single Sneetch had gone threw all the machines so many times that they didn't know who was who. After that experience all the Sneetches accepted the other sneetches for who they are and not how they look.
This is a great book for young readers, infact this was the first ever book that I read completely alone with no help. Dr Seuss is an incredible author and he will always be my favorite.
My favourite story when I was a child was Cinderella. My favourite story was Cinderella because I loved how she lost her shoe. The only thing I never understood when I was little was that she never picked her shoe back up. In my childhood my mom bought me fake high heels that had a picture of Cinderella on them, I thought it was the best gift ever. I would always put the shoes on and leave one of them on the stairs. I always wanted to be like Cinderella when I grew up.
My favorite book as a child, which my Mom read to me many times, was a book called "Miss Nelson is Missing". This was a funny book and scary one for me since I really didn't know that Miss Nelson and Miss Swamp (the scary sub teacher) were the same person. I will always remember Miss Swamp's picture in the book. She was ugly and mean to the students, they all listened to her since they were all so scared of her. I only started realizing after having had the book read to me so many times, that maybe Miss Swamp was actually Miss Nelson.
The book stayed in my memory because it was funny the way Miss Swamp dressed and it was mysterious too. I will always remember the end of the book when Miss Nelson returned to her home and it ended with her in her bedroom. We could see in her closet a box with a wig in it and the ugly black dress Miss Swamp wore.
This was a good book that brings back good memories.
When I was young, I was not into fairy tales much. I have not read many fairy tales but one that I liked was Hansel and Gretel by Brothers Grimm. I liked the idea of a house made entirely of candy that I could live in. However, I would probably eat the house instead. It would not of lasted long. I did not like the witch since she wanted to cook Hansel and I thought that was pretty scary. Also, I did not think it was too smart of Hansel and Gretel to go inside the candy house because who really thinks a candy house in the middle of forest is normal. I think that the moral of the story is that you can’t let your desires get in the way of logic. One thing that I notice about this fairy tale and others is that the woman is always evil. I wonder why.
I liked Hansel and Gretel too when I was younger, but I think perhaps they went into the house based off of survival instinct looking for food. ( I don't remember them getting a lot of food in the start of the story.)
When I was younger, my favorite fairy tale was Cinderella. I especially liked Cinderella's character. She was humble, obedient and never complained about the chores she was given despite the nastiness and unfair treatment she had to endure from her step-mother and step-sisters. I loved her natural beauty, even though she had to dress in ripped clothes and was always covered in dirt. I especially liked the ending, as Cinderella is chosen by the prince to be his wife. I think the moral of the story is important because it teaches us that hard work and being nice pay off.
Isabella, Kudos for having chosen Beauty and the Beast. I used to be a fan of all of the Disney princesses too! I used to sit and watch the movies and read the books all the time. Your blog reminded me of my younger years. Great Blog!!
As a child I really enjoyed the story Cinderella. Cinderella was strong. She kept everything inside and never told anyone how she felt. Like me I always keep all my feelings inside. I also found her very positive. She never complained about what she had to do.Cinderella was was loving and caring . She loved and cared for all the animals. This book taught me that one day or night came change your life around. Like in the book she went to the ball and married the prince. That changed her life.Cinderella was a book I could read over and over. I loved the book so much that I remember being her for Halloween multiple years in a row.
As a child I loved all the Disney Princess stories. I had a book (and I still have it) called “Disney’s Princess Collection” with all the princess stories. I loved the stories on Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Ariel, Aladdin, although I didn’t read Cinderella. My personal favorite was Pocahontas, I read that story so much, my grandparents named me their little Pocahontas. I found the story interesting and I really liked the main character, Pocahontas. I probably liked the character so much because she has long hair like I used to have.
I think i had that book to! I loved reading from it! I used to read to my cousin from it! Its Super cute that your grandparents named you there little Pocahontas. Pocahontas was a really good story. Nice blog by the way Sonia :)
As a kid my parents didn't read me fairytales, they read me novels, Robert Munch and Dr. Seuss. Out of Dr. Seuss and Robert Munch my favorite was always Dr. Seuss. I know Dr. Seuss is not exactly a fairytale but it’s the closest non-novel stories to a fairytale I was read as a kid. OK this might sound silly but my favorite story was always Yertle the Turtle. I always thought it was a funny story. Who the one of the main characters is not so funny. When I was a kid I knew nothing about this but when I got older I had my suspicions. And today those suspicions were confirmed. Yertle the turtle is Adolf Hitler. If you read the story you may or may not think it’s true but it is I liked this story as a kid because Yertle was such a brat and he was taken down by a single burp. The last page of the story says and here I quote my copy of the story “And today the great Yertle, that Marvelous he, is King of the Mud. That is all he can see. And the turtles of course ... all the turtles are free as turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be” I personally think that’s a nice way of ending a story. I would recommend that everyone reads the story.
As a child, my altime favorite fairy-tale was always The Little Match Girl. My mom used to read me this story almost every night. My mom used to read me tons of fairy-tail stories but this one was truly my favorite. It’s a wonderful story but also very touching. As I got a little older, I started understanding the meaning of the story a little better and that’s when it started getting more and more touching to read. The message that the author was sending out to the readers is, be grateful for what you have. Not being envious of other people and what they have. Whenever I look at the book today, it brings back wonderful memories of when my mom would read the story to me.
My favourite fairytale as a kid was Cinderella! Many people know the story of the charming tail of Cinderella and like it or dislike it for many different reasons. In this paragraph I'm going to explain what I loved so much about this book.
I loved the book so much I made my mom read it to me almost every night. I loved ever single thing about that book , from the different characters like Cinderella's evil step sisters to the magical settings. The main reason I enjoyed reading this book so much is because I told myself as a kid that when I grew up I wanted to be just like Cinderella ( I'm still working on it )! -Gabriella Izzo
When I was little, my favorite fairy tale was : The Lion King. I loved the story very much. All my life, the lion has been my favorite animal. The Lion King tale is one of the reasons I like the lion so much. Even though my favourite animal is the king of the jungle and most characters in the story are lions, my two favorite characters of The Lion King are Timon and Pumbaa. They’re so funny! They’re the only characters in the story who don't worry about anything, ever.
Usually when I'm stressed out, I listen to Timon and Pumbaa's song : Hakuna Matata. Why was this my favourite story growing up, because there are so many different settings, Characters, drama and action. When Mufasa; Simba’s dad dies, that's drama: When Simba fights Scar to become the ruler of Pride Rock, that's action and when Simba and Nala find each other, well that’s romance. The story has it all, that’s why I loved this fairy tale growing up and I still love it today.
Growing up I loved all the Winnie-The-Pooh stories and quotes written by A.A Milne and decorations by Ernest H. Shepard. Together they created short stories revolving around the idea of Milne’s son, Christopher Robin Milne and his toy bear Edward Bear (Winnie-The-Pooh) along with Christopher’s many other stuffed animals. There are many different poems and tales about Winnie-The-Pooh with some titles that literally tell you the plot.
But my favorite short story in particular was “A House Is Built at Pooh Corner for Eeyore.”In the short story Pooh searches for piglet and they assume that Eeyore does not own a home. So they wander around until they see a heap of sticks unaware that is Eeyore’s house they take the sticks and construct Eeyore’s house at Pooh Corner. At the end of the of the story Pooh and Piglet realized their mistake and Christopher Robin says to them “Brains first then hard work.” I thought the tale was amusing and interesting and I can relate to something similar as to what the pooh and piglet did. In the end I always thought of Christopher’s famous quote “Silly old bear” and how well it goes with what Pooh and Piglet did.
Okay I am remaking a another blog due to it not being a fairy tail. I never really read to many fairy tales but the one I was told it. I liked Hansel and Gretel, I liked the fact that it had an eeriness to it. I wanted to be one of those kids who taught all kinds of scary story's to my fellow students but could never find any at that age accept for this one. Sadly I learnt it in class so I couldn't retell the story cause everyone knew it. Anyways sorry for the lateness but hope you enjoyed my blog.

The last page of the story says and here I quote my copy of the story
ReplyDelete“And today the great Yertle, that Marvelous he, is King of the Mud. That is all he can see. And the turtles of course ... all the turtles are free as turtles and, maybe, all creatures should be”
I personally think that’s a nice way of ending a story. I would recommend that everyone reads the story.
As a child, my altime favorite fairy-tale was always The Little Match Girl.
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to read me this story almost every night.
ReplyDeleteI loved the book so much I made my mom read it to me almost every night. I loved ever single thing about that book , from the different characters like Cinderella's evil step sisters to the magical settings. The main reason I enjoyed reading this book so much is because I told myself as a kid that when I grew up I wanted to be just like Cinderella ( I'm still working on it )!

ReplyDeleteWhen I was little, my favorite fairy tale was : The Lion King.
Why was this my favourite story growing up, because there are so many different settings,
Characters, drama and action.
ReplyDeleteBut my favorite short story in particular was “A House Is Built at Pooh Corner for Eeyore.”In the short story Pooh searches for piglet and they assume that Eeyore does not own a home.
ReplyDeleteI also liked Hansel and Gretel!
